On to the reason for this evening's post. One day, while at my mother's house, I was looking at a pallet my brother had brought home from work, and I remember thinking, maybe I'm crazy, but that would work as a display shelf. Nah, I thought, I'm nuts even thinking along those lines.
Then, I was over visiting and what did I see, but a pallet that Debbiedoo's, used as a vignette, and thought to myself, heck ,if she can do it, why can't I? But, then I thought, where are you going to put it? At the same time, I have been in need, for a long time, a place to display a collection of cups and saucers I inherited from my Grammy a long time ago. I had two shelves attached to my kitchen wall in our house when we were living in Newfoundland, but, apparently we should have removed the shelves, because the movers didn't and the next family got to enjoy them.
Back to the hear and now, I thought why not marry Debbiedoo's pallet vignette with my cup and saucer display need, and this is what I came up with. I will pre-warn you, I didn't take any pictures along the way, and a part of it was Mr. House Pretty disassembled the pallet for me, cut the "pickets", cut grooves into the "shelves to place the edges of the plates in to grip them, and repositioned the "shelves" for my display. I was holding up the cups and saucers while he took measurements, and the camera got "lost in the shuffle".
So, that gets that project out of my basement. On to the next one!
This morning, Amanda was "helping" me with my raking, in between playing in her sandbox. And, part of the "helping", was jumping in the piles I was making.
And, here, you fortunate people in the States are planting your flowers, grrr! Our temps. are getting warmer, just not consistently enough quite yet to be able to plant our flowers.
Blessings,
Sue
